Privacy notice for Go Abroad Application

How we use your information

The Go Abroad Team provides current students with the opportunity to apply to take part in a study abroad exchange programme, European or International Exchange.

We need to collect and process information about you to

• Facilitate the review and decision-making process on your application
• Facilitate your period of mobility overseas (if your application is successful)
• Facilitate your external funding, if eligible.

Personal data

Your Personal data we require will normally comprise information such as your name, date of birth, ID number, email address, degree programme being undertaken and your performance on programme modules to date.

Special categories of personal data

During your application process and interaction with the Go Abroad Team, you will be asked to provide us with special category personal data, where applicable. Special categories of data are concerning your racial or ethnic origin, gender, financial circumstances, information about a disability or health, contextual admissions data about your background.

Data Controller

The data controller for your personal information is the University of Dundee. Your data is processed in the University’s business systems which include SITS, the student’s records system and Microsoft Office 365 (the University’s productivity software).

Lawful processing

The University asserts that it is lawful to process your personal and special categories of data based on your consent.

Please also refer to the privacy notice for students provided to you at matriculation for information concerning the processing of your data by the University and the reasons and ways it may be processed.

Your rights

The University respects your rights and preferences in relation to your data. If you wish to update, access, erase, or limit the use of your information, please let us know by emailing goabroad@dundee.ac.uk .

Please note that without personal information it is impossible for the Go Abroad Team to process your Go Abroad application.
