External partners for widening access
We work closely with partners who can help to provide opportunities for those who wish to study at the University.
Our partners work closely with us and local schools, meaning we open as many doors as we can to those who want to access higher education.
Schools for Higher Education Programme (SHEP)
- SHEP works with schools, colleges and universities to help grow the number of people going to positive destinations, such as higher education. Our local SHEP provider is Lift Off.
- This is a grant and is a one off payment of £300 for students in further or higher education who have a strong connection to Dundee.
Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP)
- SWAP is here to support access into higher education. It is specifically for adults who want to come back to study after a gap in their learning.

V&A Dundee
Together with schools in Dundee City we helped form the City Campus project in 2014. This allows Advanced Highers that cannot be viably delivered within individual schools to be taught by school staff with school pupils and school materials here at the University. Pupils commute to the University and have access to as many of our resources as possible as part of our town and gown policy.
