Our Centre provides visiting research opportunities to academics, professionals and research students from other institutions in the UK and abroad. The aim of the Visiting Researcher Scheme is to facilitate effective exchange of ideas and interaction amongst like-minded researchers and provide a stimulating environment for academic and professional development.
We welcome a number of visiting academics and professionals from a wide range of backgrounds every year. We particularly encourage visitors whose research plans fit in with our research themes. Following the tradition of the Centre, we offer a flexible visiting scheme of up to three months duration. In exceptional cases visits of a longer duration may be considered.
Academics and Professionals
Academic visitors are provided with office space with computing facilities and access to the library and online resources. The Centre charges a monthly bench fee of £100.00 to cover costs. Visitors will have to arrange their own accommodation and cover all expenses related to their visit. Assistance can normally be offered with accommodation requirements.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications at least three months prior to their preferred time of visit.
The Centre also welcomes a small number of visiting junior researchers, especially outstanding young scholars and students working towards their doctoral degrees or who have just completed their PhDs and are writing their theses in the form of monographs and/or articles. Junior researchers will be encouraged to interact actively with Centre staff and PhD students.
Visiting junior researchers will be matriculated as non-graduating research students and provided with:
- University computing facilities
- Access to the University Library
- A University e-mail address
The Centre charges a monthly bench fee of £350.00 to cover its costs.
Visitors will need to arrange their own accommodation and cover all expenses related to their visit. Please note that the University uses a Pay-2-Print service for all printing and photocopying.
