Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in research is a priority for TASC, to improve the quality and relevance of research in Tayside.

PPI queries can be sent to the TASC PPI manager at : public-involvement@dundee.ac.uk

TASC PPI groups

TASC have developed two different PPI groups.

  1. Tayside PPI group

This group is made up of members of the public who are interested in healthcare research, carers of patients or patients of any healthcare condition. This group will provide valuable insight and advise researchers in Tayside on a range of different research topics. Involving patients and members of the public in planning and performing research is important to improve the quality and relevance of research.

  1. COVID patient group

This group is made up of patients that have had COVID-19, have been hospitalised with COVID-19 or have long lasting effects from COVID-19 (also known as long COVID). This group will be valuable to advise researchers who are planning research projects on COVID-19. This could include providing input into how COVID research is designed, advising what questions should be asked in research project and providing knowledge and experiences to improve future research.

Information for members of the public

We are currently recruiting for the TASC PPI groups.

If you are a patient, carer or member of the public you can find out more detailed information about what the PPI groups will involve.

The PPI manager will get back to you as soon as possible. Please note, places in the group are limited and if there is a large interest places will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Information for researchers

If you are a researcher who would like to involve patients or members of the public in your research, please submit an enquiry to public-involvement@dundee.ac.uk
