Portfolio Prep Club

Portfolio prep returns for 2018! Astrid and I have put our heads together and planned the spring sessions to try and accommodate different courses - there should be something for everyone. Some of these sessions will span two or three weeks, enabling us time to build up work.

Remember - even if you're applying to a specific course it is good to show a range of skills, media and disciplines in your portfolio.

January 20th & 27th: Conceal//Reveal - an illustration/graphic design project

February 3rd & 10th: Edinburgh Galleries Trip & Response (See below!)

February 17th: Sketchbooks

February 24th & March 3rd: Go large - large scale installation construction

March 10th, 17th and 24th: Botanical Garden Project

March 31st: Final mounting pre-general foundation

Interview Prep Workshop

Wednesday 31st January

Talking about your work can be very scary, especially in an interview situation. Unfortunately for a number of creative courses and degrees, an interview is the greatest part of the selection process. If this is something that you struggle with then the ACES Interview Workshop will help you get used to talking about your portfolio with others.

Please bring along your portfolio - or a selection of work - and think about:

  • How you have made it
  • Why you have made it
  • Your decision making process
  • What you like
  • What you don't like
  • How your ideas have developed.

We'll let you know more details shortly before the workshop.
