We invite you to the Undergraduate Open Day at the University of Dundee on Monday 31 August 2020 from 09:30 - 15:00
Open Days give you the chance to see what the University of Dundee has to offer.
Come on your own, with parents, or as part of a school party. Everyone is welcome to attend including school students, college of further education students, adult returners, parents, teachers and careers advisers.

On the day all disciplines offered by the University of Dundee will have information stands located in the marquee located on the Campus Green. Student Ambassadors will escort visitors from the relevant information stands in the marquee to the subject talks 15 minutes prior to the talk start time.

Accountancy & Finance
The Accountancy & Finance talk will take place in Lecture Theatre 1, Dalhousie Building at 09:50, and in Lecture Theatre 4, Dalhousie Building at 12:15.
Anatomical Sciences and Forensic Anthropology
The Anatomical Sciences and Forensic Anthropology talk will take place in MSI Lecture Theatre at 11:00.
The Architecture talk will take place in 1F01, Dalhousie Building at 11:00.
Art & Design
There will be a Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design welcome talk by the Dean in Lecture Theatre 4, Dalhousie Building at 09:30.
The Art & Design (General Foundation) talk will take place in Lecture Theatre 3, Dalhousie Building at 11:15.
There will also be talks for specific subjects taking place during the day.
Biological and Biomedical Sciences
Life Sciences talks will take place in D'Arcy Thompson Lecture Theatre, Tower Building at 10:30 and 14:00.
The Business Management talks will take place in Lecture Theatre 1, Dalhousie Building at 10:10 and in Lecture Theatre 4, Dalhousie Building at 12:15.
The Computing talks and demonstration will take place in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, Queen Mother Building at 10:00 and 12:30.
The Dentistry programme will take place in the Large Lecture Theatre in the Dental Hospital at 11:00.
Economics & International Business
The Economics & International Business talk will take place in Lecture Theatre 1, Dalhousie Building at 10:30 and in Lecture Theatre 4, Dalhousie Building at 12:15.
Education (Primary), Social Work and Community Development
The Education, Social Work, and Community Learning & Development talks will take place in Lecture Theatre 4, Dalhousie Building at 10:15 and 13:30.
English, Film Studies & Creative Writing
The English, Film Studies, and Creative Writing talks will take place in 2G14, Dalhousie Building at 09:30, Lecture Theatre 1, Dalhousie Building at 11:45, and 2G14, Dalhousie Building at 13:00.

Meet outside the Dalhousie Building to be taken to Ninewells Hospital. The buses will leave the Dalhousie building at 09:40 and 12:15.
The Nursing talks will take place at 09:30 and 11:45 in D'Arcy Thompson Lecture Theatre, Tower Building.
Oral Health Sciences
The Oral Health Sciences talk will take place in the Large Lecture Theatre in the Dental Hospital at 10:00.
The Philosophy talks will take place in 2F15, Dalhousie Building at 10:45 and 12:45.
The Physics talk will take place in the Lecture Theatre, Carnegie Building at 11:30.
Politics & International Relations
The Politics & International Relations talks will take place in 2F11, Dalhousie Building at 10:00 and 12:15.
The Psychology talks will take place in Small Lecture Theatre, Carnelley Building at 10:00, 11:30 and 13:15.
Urban Planning & Environmental Sustainability
The Urban Planning & Environmental Sustainability talks will take place in Room 2S12, Dalhousie Building at 10:30 and 12:15.
The central hub on the day will be a marquee, located on Campus Green. The marquee will house information stands on every discipline Dundee has to offer, as well as student services.
As well as the chance to meet staff from the course you are interested in we have a range of talks, tours and workshops covering all aspects of your time in Dundee to enjoy.
On our booking form you can arrange the day to suit yourselves, and if you wish to have your parents attend a talk while you tour the campus or divide up the events in any other way, you can!
You can collect your Open Day pack at one of our Registration Points located around the campus. Please remember to bring your Eventbrite confirmation (you can either take a paper copy or have it available to scan on an electronic device).
Tours of the campus will be available throughout the day, leaving from the Enquiry Centre on Campus Green, every 15 minutes between 08:45 and 14:45. Student Ambassadors will take you round our campus and facilities and will give you an overview of student life. Campus tours last approximately 45 minutes. These tours will include visiting accommodation.
UCAS – Applying to University
Presentations on the application process to university will be held in Lecture Theatre 2, Dalhousie Building at 10:00, Lecture Theatre T9, Tower Building at 11:00, 4.01 Scrymgeour Building at 12:15 and in Lecture Theatre 1, Dalhousie Building at 13:45.
Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) will have an information stand in the marquee on Campus Green. SAAS will also be delivering presentations on student funding arrangements for Scottish and EU students in Lecture Theatre 4, Dalhousie Building at 11:20 and in Lecture Theatre 3, Dalhousie Building at 13:00.
There will be presentations about student funding arrangements for English, Northern Irish and Welsh students in 2G14, Dalhousie Building at 11:00 and in Lecture Theatre 1, Dalhousie Building at 13:00.
Our Study Abroad team will have an information stand in the marquee on Campus Green. There will be presentations on Study Abroad in Lecture Theatre 2, Dalhousie Building at 10:30 and 12:30.
Study Abroad is available to our undergraduate students by way of our international and Erasmus+ exchange programmes. Where and when you go depends on which degree you take. Student Exchange is currently not available to the following students: Community Learning & Development, Medicine, Oral Health Sciences, Primary Education and Social Work.
Food & Drink
There will be a BBQ on Campus Green from 11:00 to 14:00. You can also purchase snacks in the Air Bar, Liar Bar or Food on 4 in DUSA, at the cafes in the Main Library or MSI Building. Or there are a number of eateries around the campus and in the city centre.
For visitors who have travelled a distance, there will be a Left Luggage service in room 2G03, Dalhousie Building from 08:00 to 15:15.
Free Refreshments for Visitors
On the Open Day, the Chaplaincy will be providing complimentary refreshments for visitors.
Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you will always be welcome in the Chaplaincy which is situated right in the heart of the main University campus in Cross Row. You don’t have to be religious to visit the Chaplaincy Centre. It is a relaxing and friendly place. Our facilities include the Chapel, a Coffee Bar, Library, Quiet Room and meeting rooms (which are all available and free for booking for staff and students).

Parents and guardians are invited to attend a cheese and wine reception on 30 August in the Longforgan Room at West Park.

The Reception will commence at 8.00pm and finish at 10.00pm.
Members of senior University staff are being invited to this event so that they can welcome you to the University.
If you decide to stay outside University accommodation on 25 August, you are still welcome to attend the Reception, but you will need to book in advance.
All prospective students are invited to attend our student social at DUSA (Dundee University Students’ Association) on Sunday 30 August.
The event will start at 8.00pm and finish at 11.00pm.

If you are a local resident and do not need accommodation, but would like to attend the party, you are welcome to do so, but you will need to book in advance.
No alcohol will be provided at West Park, or at the party in DUSA as the majority of applicants are under 18.
The University of Dundee will not accept any responsibility for the consumption of alcohol.
When You Arrive
On arrival, please make your way to one of the registration points on campus to pick up your Open Day pack with map and any additional notes you may need to help you during your visit.
To help speed up registration, we ask to bring your Eventbrite confirmation with you – either printed or on your smartphone / tablet.
There will be information stands located in the marquee, so if you want to ask a few more questions about our courses after attending a talk, come along and chat to students and academics.
Our map of the campus will help you make your way around campus. This can either be downloaded or you can collect a copy when you arrive on campus from any of the registration points around campus.
