An online course is intended for those wishing to jump-start their French. Study from home, from the basics up to Higher and beyond. One of our suite of distance learning languages courses.

This 25-week distance learning course is intended for those wishing to jump-start their French!  If what you're looking for is a flexible course which you can study from home and will take you from the basics up to Higher and beyond, then this is the course for you.

If you already have some knowledge of French (e.g. a rusty Higher) then the 10-week revision course is for you.  It will help you rebuild your confidence and competence.

Many students move on from these courses to study our Graduate Diploma in French by distance learning.

Why should study this course?

Ideally, you should have some basic knowledge of French, although if you are a competent linguist and are willing to dedicate sufficient time (approximately 4 to 5 hours per week), then you could start from scratch.

The full (25-week) intensive French course is accredited at 20 SCQF credits, however the 10-week revision course is not, although you will achieve a standard equivalent to a Scottish Higher.  If you complete either course satisfactorily you will receive a Certificate of Course Completion.
