To be eligible to apply for this funding, you must:

  • Have applied to a postgraduate (taught or research) programme at the University of Dundee and have received an offer of entry
  • Classified as Overseas fee status, as determined by the University of Dundee
  • Applicants must be citizens of Uruguay

The University of Dundee is offering 1 postgraduate taught and 1 PhD student the opportunity to receive funding from ANII.

The value of the scholarship varies depending on the level you are studying at, however ANII will fund up to USD $80,000 for a 4 year PhD, and up to USD $60,000 for a 3 year PhD.

PhD’s in ANNII’s priority areas fall under the following themes:

  • Energy, including renewable energy
  • Animal and Human Health
  • Agriculture, Livestock and Agro-Industrial production
  • Environment and Biodiversity
  • Information and Communications Technology
  • Audio-visual Production
  • Education and Social Development
  • Biotechnology and Nanotechnology
  • Transport and Logistics

For postgraduate taught programmes the value is up to USD $40,000 for a 2 year programme, and up to USD $20,000 for a 1 year programme.

The total amounts are to cover tuition costs, airline tickets between Uruguay and the UK, accommodation and health insurance. If there is any additional costs above the scholarship amount, then you will need to cover these.

The University will discount fees by up to 25% for successful scholars.

How to Apply

To be eligible to apply for this funding through ANII, you must first have applied to study at the University of Dundee. Once we have made you an offer, you can then apply to ANII by following this link.

They will assess the information you provide on your application via an independent committee of experts. They will then advise you of the outcome of your application, whether successful or unsuccessful.

If you are successful with your scholarship, ANII will confirm the process for receiving payment.
