The University of Dundee welcomes applications from disabled students. We encourage applicants with a disability to contact Disability Services as soon as you can for confidential advice and information.

The Disability Services website gives more information about how we support our disabled students.

We want to make sure that all students have the same opportunity to reach their full potential in an inclusive learning environment. It is important that we identify specific adjustments we need to make to meet your individual needs in addition to the general adjustments we have already made.

Applicants who have already declared a disability

If you have already applied to us and declared a disability, we will send you further information about Disability Services in your Acknowledgement email. We will process your application according to our academic and non-academic entry criteria in the same way as all other applications. If we invite you to attend an interview (relevant courses only) we will ask you to let us know about any extra support you may need for this.

Applicants who have not yet declared a disability

If you have already received an offer of a place and you have not yet informed us of your disability we encourage you to contact Disability Services as soon as possible. This is so we can identify any specific adjustments you may need before your course starts.

You do not have to disclose your disability to the University, but we ask you to carefully consider the advantages of doing so. When you disclose a disability, we will do all that we can to identify and arrange appropriate support to meet your individual needs. Any delays could mean we may not be able to put support in place as quickly as we would like to.

Courses with Professional Fitness to Practice or skills requirements

Some courses have Professional Fitness to Practice or specific skills requirements which may be affected by some disabilities. If you have applied for one of these courses, we will process your application according to our academic and non-academic entry criteria in the same way as all other applications, and any disability-related implications will be considered post offer. It is therefore important that you disclose any impairment that may impact on your ability to meet the specific requirements of professional programmes as this may affect your progress on the course. We encourage you to contact the relevant Academic School to clarify these requirements as soon as possible. You may also wish to contact Disability Services to discuss your individual support needs in confidence.

You can appeal the panel's decision through the University’s Appeals process.
