To be able to undertake Erasmus+ at University of Dundee your English language proficiency must be at the B2 level of the CEFR. You will be required to provide evidence of this as part of your application.

We also provide In-Sessional English language support.

As a student applying from a partner institution you are guaranteed the offer of a room in our University of Dundee Residences if you submit your application by the deadline provided in your invitation to apply for accommodation. This will only be issue to you if you have given a formal offer to study at Dundee and have accepted the offer.

Our compact city campus has an ideal location in the heart of Dundee, only a five-minute stroll from the city's best shops, bars, arts and leisure venues, yet it remains quiet and relaxed and provides for all aspects of student life. This includes our state-of-the art library, Students' Union, swimming pool, gym, prize-winning architecture and friendly atmosphere.

If you have been formally nominated to us by the Erasmus Office at your home institution please complete and submit our online Erasmus+ application form

by 31 March if you are applying for Semester 1 or the full academic year

by 30 September if you are applying for Semester 2

For DJCAD applicants only: On receiving incoming applications DJCAD will carry out an internal review of these applications and the portfolio provided will be the deciding factor on whether an application is successful or not.


Visa Requirements

If you are an EU national you do not require any form of visa to undertake Erasmus at Dundee. If you are an international student studying at one of our partner universities, you will require the Student Visitor Visa to attend Dundee for one semester and the Tier 4 Student Visa for one full academic year.


You are advised to have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and also private travel and health insurance for the duration of your Erasmus studies at Dundee. We cannot recommend a particular insurance company but you may find it useful to review some local comparison websites that offer information on products available in your country.
