How to apply
Academic Year 2018/19
Once you are a matriculated and current student at the University of Dundee, and you have received the first instalment of your student loan, you can apply to the Discretionary Funds for financial assistance.
Our Application for Financial Assistance is available to download, complete, and print out.
If you have already applied this academic year, i.e. Since September 2018 and completed the above form, you can re-apply to the Discretionary Funds if your circumstances have changed or you've had an unexpected expense. You don't need to complete the big form again, use our DF Re-application Form and hand this in with the documentation we request.
You must read our Application Declaration before signing the application form in INK.
Please remember to include the documentation we ask for on the form. Here are some examples of the kind of evidence we are looking for:
Here is an Example Completed Financial Assistance Form for you to refer to if needed.
If you are applying for help with your childcare costs, you will need to download the Childcare Form (one form for each child), and give it to your childcare provider(s) to complete. The completed form(s) need to be included with your application for Financial Assistance above. Here is an example of a Example Completed Childcare Form.
The Student Funding Unit will endeavour to process your application within 15 working days of receipt of a full application. During busy periods eg. beginning of academic year, it may not be possible to meet this time-scale; however every attempt will be made to process your application as quickly as possible.
