Once you are an enrolled and current student at the University of Dundee, and you have received the first instalment of your student loan, you can apply to the Discretionary Funds for financial assistance. Please check our Eligibility section to make sure you can apply.
Our Application for Financial Assistance is available to download, complete, and print out.
If you have already completed our Application for Financial Assistance this academic year (2019/20) and you need to re-apply for financial assistance - due to unforseen circumstances - please use our DF Re-application Form to apply again to our Discretionary Funds. This form advises you what documentation is required to accompany it. If you do not include this documentation, processing of your re-application will be delayed.

If you are applying for help with your childcare costs, you will need to download the Childcare Form (one form for each child), and give it to your childcare provider(s) to complete. The completed form(s) need to be included with your application for Financial Assistance above. Here is an example of a Example Completed Childcare Form.
The Student Funding Unit will endeavour to process your application within 15 working days of receipt of a full application. During busy periods eg. beginning of academic year, it may not be possible to meet this time-scale; however every attempt will be made to process your application as quickly as possible. We will only contact you via your dundee.ac.uk email address - please therefore ensure that you check this email account after submitting your application for any further information we may require.
