I hold a Masters (Hons.) degree in French and German (St Andrews University), a PGCE (Moray House, Edinburgh), an RSA Cert. and a Masters in Applied Linguistics (Lancaster University). After teaching French and German in Scotland and English in France and Germany, I moved into the fields of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and spent many years working at universities in Indonesia and Yemen and with major multi-nationals in Japan. On my return to Scotland I joined the English Language Unit at Dundee University, where I coordinate Pre-sessional programmes and also teach on these and In-sessional programmes. I have taught all levels of academic students (UG, PG, Post-doc.) and professionals from disciplines including Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Finance, International Business, Law, Medicine and Pharmaceuticals. My main areas of interest are in the development of academic writing skills, academic vocabulary development and oral communication skills.
