The Home Office requires The University of Dundee to monitor Tier 4 students. We track the attendance and course progression. This means that all absences are monitored and you must get them authorised by your School.

Engaging in your studies is a requirement of your Tier 4 student visa. Too many unauthorised absences from your studies can cause a problem. We will always work with students to resolve any problems. We also have a legal responsibility to report to the Home Office. We would do this if too many sessions (contact points) are missed without authorisation.

There are many reasons why students may be absent from study. The general principle is usually the same –  keep your School and us informed.
