The School of Business is proud to welcome Carol Clark as a Professor in Practice. With over 18 years of leadership experience in the games industry, Carol has established herself as a respected expert in game development, operational strategy, and creative team leadership. This voluntary role will allow her to share invaluable insight with students, helping them prepare for careers in fast-paced, ever-evolving industries.
Carol said “I’m honoured to be appointed as a Professor of Practice at the University of Dundee, School of Business —not least because the institution has been incredibly influential in my own career,” Carol added. “It will allow me to bring a live connection to industry into the student experience, sharing not only the highs and lows of game development, but also lessons in leadership, team culture, and sustainable project delivery.”
Carol’s work includes being part of the Xbox One launch team during her time at Rare, leading an R&D team whose innovations on Kinect Sports Rivals earned a patent, and production of the BAFTA-winning Kinect Sports Season Two. She has shipped titles across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile platforms, managing teams ranging from 25 to over 200 people.
Morris Altman, Dean of the School of Business added “Carol’s unique experience and passion for mentoring will be a huge benefit to our students, particularly those interested in leadership, innovation, and the creative industries.”
Professors in Practice are leaders in their industry who volunteer to share their real-world practical knowledge with colleagues and students across the School of Business.
