Cryo EM Workshop held in School

This week forty researchers completed a two-day workshop in Cryo Electron Microscopy (EM) held in the School.

Cryo EM makes it possible to see the biological molecules that underpin life in atomic detail. Participants from Dundee and St Andrews benefited from lectures and practical workshops given by experts from across the UK including:

  • Rebecca Thompson, CryoEM scientist and facility manager at the Astbury Biostructure Lab, University of Leeds
  • James Streetley, CryoEM Facility Manager at, and David Bhella, Director of the Scottish Centre for Macromolecular Imaging
  • Maarten Tuijtel, CryoEM Technologist from the School of Biological Sciences, University of Edinburgh
  • Ramasubramanian Sundaramoorthy, Alan Prescott and Yongchang Fan, CryoEM specialists from Dundee

The course was supported by Wellcome Trust ISSF funding.
