Verity Clarke, a second year BA Social Work student from the School of Education & Social Work, has been named as one of four winners of the Social Workers Union (SWU) World Social Work Day Essay Assignment Competition.

Social work students across the UK were asked to write on the theme of 'Working Better Together' and the competition received a high level of entries. Each of the winners, including Verity, were chosen based on their understanding of social work services and the importance they placed on challenging austerity and oppression.
