Fully funded places available

A limited number of fully funded places are available for eligible Scottish applicants through the Scottish Government's Upskilling Fund.

If you are living in Scotland and are currently:

  • unemployed and seeking work
  • at risk of redundancy or your job under threat as a result of Covid-19 or the economic impact of EU Exit
  • employed and have identified a skills gap in their current job

then you can apply for a fully funded place.

This course will help you develop your own process for creating fictional worlds to support your creative writing projects. Building engaging, robust fictional worlds is important not just in the science fiction and fantasy genres, but in any creative fiction work.

Through weekly lectures you will be introduced to the concepts behind fictional worlds and will practice their application by applying them to a project of your choice.

By the end of the course, you will have the basis of a fictional world for a personal, creative project, as well as a worldbuilding process document for you to apply to all your future projects.
