This distance learning course is suited to individuals who are currently in a professional role and want to strengthen their professional development in leadership and management or community education.

It will help you recognise and bring forward substantial evidence of your prior learning and experience in youth work, adult/family learning, or community development settings.

With tutor support and access to module resources you will work through a process of recognition and identification of prior learning and the presentation of evidence of learning, following a four-stage process of reflection, identification, production, and assessment.

This will allow you to develop a portfolio of evidence and a short reflective essay which summarises your professional development achievements and highlights future career goals

On successful completion, you will achieve accreditation of 60 credits at SCQF (Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework) level 7. This could be for full accreditation or can (depending on your circumstances) allow access into our full BA (Hons) Community Education Work Based Route course.
