If you are living in Scotland and are currently:

  • unemployed and seeking work
  • at risk of redundancy or your job under threat as a result of Covid-19 or the economic impact of EU Exit
  • employed and have identified a skills gap in their current job

then you can apply for a fully funded place.

If you are interested in writing crime fiction using forensic evidence this is the course for you.

We will teach you to use forensic science to go beyond the familiar world of DNA and fingerprinting to create accurate and believable crime fiction giving you a competitive edge.

Acclaimed crime writer Russel McLean will guide and advise you through a series of lectures delivered by the world-renowned scientists of the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID) at the University of Dundee.

They will focus on topics such as the recovery of evidence from different environments, ways to prevent contamination and preserve the integrity of evidence, and the role of forensic specialists as expert witnesses.
