This course promotes new theoretical and practical understanding of what it means to be a creative technologist. By learning how to tell stories about and with technology, you will gain a deep understanding of how open hardware, and software platforms can be used as prototyping tools within socially motivated design projects.  

You will leave this course with:  

  • an understanding of some of the issues and trends relating to social uses of technology like Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT)
  • an introduction to open hardware and software platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Electric Imp
  • the practical skills and confidence to test technical prototypes with users
  • the skills and capabilities to use creative technologies as narrative storytelling techniques
