Students with a disability

Guidance for students with a disability taking part in practice learning

On this page

The School and the University encourage all students with a disability to disclose it.

We will take appropriate measures to support you in completing both the theory and practice elements of your programme.

If you have a disability and have not disclosed it, you are strongly advised to reconsider this decision as you will be unable to access all the support available. You may also be putting yourself or patients at risk in the practice placement setting.

The School and the University are here to help. We can arrange appropriate support through a confidential service. We'll also ask your permission to inform practice placement areas to help them make reasonable adjustments to assist you while on practice to ensure you have access to the appropriate learning opportunities.

For further information and advice, please contact the University’s Disability Services department.
