International Criminal Justice & Human Rights LLM
School of Social Sciences
Whatever your background, develop or further your understanding of the theory and practice of criminal justice and human rights law at international level
Dundee City Campus
You will learn to understand the organisation, theory and practice of criminal justice and human rights law at an international level. Organised crime, terrorist activity and regional civil wars go beyond national boundaries, affecting human rights beyond the interests and capacity of individual nation states.
The effective detection, investigation and prosecution of crime is increasingly dependent on closer harmonisation and co-operation between global institutions. This course will develop your understanding of the main global systems for the protection of human rights. It will also teach you about the main arguments for and against the universality of human rights, in the light of cultural diversity.
