Date of entry

September 2024

As part of the application process, you are required to submit a creative way to solve a user or business problem/need. This could be a proposal for a new business or design idea, but it could also be a public service, a strategy, a community project, a marketing campaign, or even a product.

Depending on the content of your proposal, you might like to consider some of the following when developing your design or business proposal (as outlined by The Luma Institute):

  • What is the concept called?
  • Who is it for?
  • What problem does it solve?
  • What is the big idea?
  • Illustrate or discuss how it works?
  • Why might it fail?
  • What should you prototype and test?
  • How might you measure success?

You are free to present your proposal as a concept poster or in another text/image format (2-3 pages max). It should convince us of your ability to tell a story of your creative work supported by appropriate materials.

Your proposal will be considered in an admissions context only, there is no expectation to be further developed as part of the MSc Design for Business curriculum.
