Biography

Morgan Hetherington completed her BSc in Environmental Science at the University of Stirling in 2018. She also holds a MSc in Volcanology and Geological Hazards from Lancaster University whereby her master’s thesis involved modelling explosive volcanism in the solar system.  Morgan was granted EPSRC funding to pursue a PhD at Dundee University in 2019. Her current research activities focus on the dynamics of turbulent buoyant jets; specifically, improving the dynamic links between plume evolution, particle fallout characteristics and temporal source conditions. As a result of this research, integral plume models will be improved in relevant fields (e.g., ocean engineering, volcanology).
