Mish has worked in the higher education sector since 2010 across a number of professional services roles including admissions, marketing and schools and colleges liaison/student recruitment, having been fortunate to represent both the University of Surrey and the University of Dundee across the UK and overseas (specifically in parts of Africa, the Middle East and Europe in addition to the UK).
Mish’s current role at the University of Dundee is as a Regional Lead for work with UK-based international partners and students as well as work with international and independent schools, delivering presentations and talks on a wide variety of aspects within higher education as well as providing advice and guidance to students and careers advisors/counsellors on those very topics.
During his time as a student, Mish developed an interest in dispute resolution and throughout his personal and professional career has sought to use effective communication as a means to ensure problems can be solved through open and honest dialogue. Mish trained as a mediator with The Mediation Partnership in Autumn 2020 and feels privileged to join the Early Dispute Resolution team at the University of Dundee after receiving his registration through the Scottish Mediation Network.
Public speaking is a major part of Mishal Dattani’s professional life but the University of Dundee senior student recruitment officer will face an entirely different audience when he appears at the House of Commons tomorrow
