Katie holds a BSc (hons) and MRes in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Dundee. As part of her undergraduate degree Katie studied modules in anatomy, embryology and histology. She is a demonstrator within the department, facilitating learning across anatomy, medicine and dentistry programmes.

Katie has interests in palaeopathology, bioarchaeology and the analysis of trauma and disease on human skeletal remains. She is now undertaking a PhD exploring the methods used for the identification and recording of joint diseases within the spine across archaeology and anthropology. Her research aims to establish the reliability for these methods and bring more clinical knowledge about spinal joint diseases to the field.
