Guanzuo Chen

Guanzuo Chen holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Hunan University (China) graduated in July 2017 and a MSc in Structural Engineer & Concrete Material from University of Dundee graduated in September 2018. During his master’s study, he finished the project with the title ‘Establish the Relationship Between Surface Finish and Fresh Properties of Concretes in a Quantitative Manner’.



Guanzuo joined Concrete Technology and Structural Engineering Centre in February 2019 to pursue a PhD in Civil Engineering. His research project focuses on establishing best practice for biomass ash (one potential material to be used in concrete) utilization in construction, with the aim to deal with the potential shortage of some building materials such as coal fly ash and explore sustainable methods of using industrial wastes.
