Biography
Dr Evelien Rooke BSc (hons), MBChB, MD, MRCP, MRCP (neuro), FRCP Edin is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Dundee and Honorary Consultant Neurologist, in NHS Tayside. She studied Neuroscience followed by Medicine at Edinburgh University before completing a doctorate whilst working as a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Dundee. Her clinical area of special interest is epilepsy.
Research
Research interests include decentralised clinical trial design and the use of technology in the study of neurological disease (in particular epilepsy, stroke and dementia). Her particular focus is to improve participant access to research. She has worked on several large pragmatic clinical trials, including the TIME, FAST and ALL-HEART studies, as well as the RECALL Pilot and VAC4COVID studies. Evelien is a keen medical educator involved in teaching and assessing undergraduates, postgraduates and allied health care professionals.
