Biography

As Director of the newly created University Executive & Strategy Office, Christine is responsible for bringing together the work of the Strategic Planning & Insight, Change Delivery, and Executive Office teams, using management information, insight, strategic opportunity and policy to inform delivery of the University Strategy.

As a member of the University Executive Group, Christine works with the Principal, Vice-Principals and other senior colleagues to ensure that the University is resilient and responsive to opportunities and threats to its academic excellence and financial sustainability.

Christine has previously held the role of Director of the University Executive Office & Vice-Chancellor’s Chief of Staff, co-ordinating the management, implementation and delivery of executive decisions and the University’s strategic objectives. Prior to that she worked within Academic & Corporate Governance as the Senior Policy Officer (Corporate Governance), ensuring a focus on decision-making and delivery as well as cohesion, integration, consistency and transparency across the various governance and executive management bodies in co-operation with the Director of Academic & Corporate Governance and the wider secretariat.

She is a graduate of the University of Dundee, having a BA(Hons) in Biochemistry and Pharmacology and PhD in Protein Crystallography from the University. Following a period of post-doctoral research at the University of St Andrews, Christine returned to the University of Dundee to create and lead the University’s researcher training unit 'Generic Skills Dundee' in response to the Robert’s agenda, and she subsequently led the University’s Organisational and Professional Development Unit.
