Biography
Caitlin is from Scotland and studied BSc Neuroscience in our School of Life Sciences, graduating in 2019.
About Caitlin
During my studies I was highly involved with the Dundee Life Science Society planning the academic events and I worked as a Public Engagement Assistant for the School of Life Science during my final two summers in Dundee. These experiences exposed me to the field of science communication and set me off on my path to pursuing it as a career. I currently work as a Science Communicator and Climate Change Content Developer at Glasgow Science Centre, utilising the skills I developed at the University of Dundee to engage people with science. I work hard to challenge perceptions of science through various voluntary groups and I am involved in community efforts to address the climate emergency.
Reason for becoming an Alumni Ambassador
My time at the University of Dundee was a great experience, not without its fair share of tough times, that I was supported through from the very first visit to beyond graduation. I was able to not only be a part of a strong and welcoming community but to play a very active role as a Student Ambassador. This job was not only good in building my confidence and skill set but made me appreciate the city of Dundee and the work that the University of Dundee does all the more. I wouldn't have been as exposed to the scope of activity of the University if it wasn't for this job. I was able to view the University of Dundee from a different perspective and see the impact it has beyond our campus. Having the opportunity to continue this as an Alumni Ambassador not only allows me to continue to learn and develop but to provide a continued dialogue of the impact that studying at Dundee has on my life.
