Being a researcher can be an intense, challenging and sometimes stressful experience, but the University of Dundee is committed to giving you the support you need to thrive, to hone your professional skills and to build your career.
As a researcher at Dundee you are entitled to spend 80 hours each year participating in activities relevant to developing your transferable skills. Our workshops count towards this total. You can find out more about this by consulting the University’s Researcher Development Policy.
To explore the opportunities you have for this development please View the training and development webinars available to you. If you would like to see how these map to the RDF please view our diagram here.
To help you get the most out of our workshops we have mapped them to the Researcher Development Framework
created by Vitae
, an organisation dedicated to helping researchers fulfil their potential. The Framework sets out four areas of key skills that professional researchers need.
Once you have identified a workshop you would like to attend, you can go to our booking page
to secure a place.
If you are a postgraduate research supervisor the University of Dundee offers various forms of training, including a core supervisor training package required for supervisor accreditation and several additional workshops which are either aimed specifically at developing supervisor skills or which are likely to be useful to supervisors.
