OPD formally coordinate two schemes on annual cycles.
Teaching, Research, and Academic Mentoring scheme
This is a cross-institutional academic and research- focused mentoring scheme for employees.
Participating institutions:
- University of Dundee (co-founders)
- University of St Andrews (co-founders)
- Abertay University
- The Glasgow School of Art
- The James Hutton Institute
- Trinity College Dublin (medical school)
- Queen Margaret University

Professional development mentoring scheme
Available to all employees of the University of Dundee who wish to be mentored or provide mentorship on universal professional skills or experiences, this fully voluntary offering of development aims to:
- partner experienced professionals with colleagues at an earlier career stage or juncture, providing guidance and structured support for personal, development, wellbeing or performance goals
- encourage inter-departmental networks by pairing mentors and mentees from different areas, which will increase our sense of community and break down working siloes, embracing a One Dundee approach
