Consultants critical of NHS managerialism and bureaucracy in new report

The commitment of senior doctors working in NHS Scotland enables a healthcare system under severe strain to fulfil its necessary obligations to patients, according to new research carried out by the Universities of Dundee and Glasgow. The BMA Scottish Consultants Committee commissioned this research to determine the extent to which consultants felt their traditional authority and leadership role in clinical matters had been eroded, otherwise known as de-professionalisation. For the third consecutive year Interior Environmental Design students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design have achieved success at the RSA Student Design Awards. Third-year students Helen Karwot and Magdalena Borzecka have won prestigious national awards for designing innovative responses to the RSA ‘Creative Conditions’ brief. Exhibition celebrating Minnie the Minx artist

An exhibition celebrating the work of the late Beano artist Jim Petrie opens at the University of Dundee’s Lamb Gallery this week. Jim, who died last year, was best known for being the man who drew the "world's wildest tomboy" Minnie the Minx in the famous comic for 40 years. The exhibition, which has been created with the support of Jim's family and DC Thomson & Co Ltd, who have lent material for display, opens to the public on Wednesday, 3rd June. Last chance to see record breaking Degree Show

This weekend is the last chance to see the record-breaking University of Dundee Art, Design & Architecture 2015 Degree Show. The Degree Show has already reached new highs by attracting well in excess of 10,000 visitors over the course of the past week, including over 5500 people on the opening night. Milk-teeth sculptures and donating body parts to art

A panel discussion on whether consenting adults should be allowed to donate their bodies to art and a fantastical, palace-like structure made with hundreds of milk teeth will bring the ‘Material Concerns’ exhibition at the University of Dundee to a close this weekend. ‘Material Concerns’ at LifeSpace in the Discovery Centre explores the use of human tissue in life, art and scientific research.
