Travelling the World

Santa Maria Maggiore by Ian Eadie, 1937

An exhibition in the Tower Foyer Gallery

8 January - 26 February 2011
Mon-Fri 09.30-20.30 Sat 09.30-16.30

This exhibition features artworks and artefacts depicting different countries and cultures from around the world.

Most of the paintings and drawings are by Scottish or English artists who travelled to new places for inspiration - experiencing a change of landscape, people and climate. Some are realistic depictions, others are intended to give impressions of a place or experience.

In the display cases are objects and works of decorative art which have come to the University from countries across the world, many presented by other higher education institutions. They symbolise the University's many international connections, past and present.
