In 1997, the Scottish Arts Council decided to distribute their collection of post-war Scottish art to registered museums and galleries around the country.

The University of Dundee Museum Collections were awarded over 175 works, and it was decided that these would form the basis of an Archive held in the new Visual Research Centre at DCA.

Following conservation and re-mounting of the prints where appropriate, the Bequest is now housed in the VRC Archive, which opened to the public in October 2001.

This exhibition highlights the diversity of the collection, and includes works by David Davies, Jim Pattison and John Taylor.
