This module aims to enable students to critically evaluate both the principles and the practices of teaching within a primary care setting whist developing, delivering and reflecting on their own teaching and assessment of students

By the end of this module, students should be able to:

  1. Critically appraise the roles, responsibilities, skills and attributes of the clinical teacher in relation to current approaches to supporting learning in the General Practice workplace.
  2. Critically appraise the practicality of theories and models of workplace learning in relation to clinical teaching and learning in the General Practice context.
  3. Articulate a critical stance by reflecting upon your own planning, preparation and delivery of clinically focused teaching activities.
  4. Recommend practical measures to critically analyse and integrate key trends and evidence-based strategies into your clinical teaching in the General Practice setting.
