Apply knowledge, understanding and analytical skills relevant to Islamic Finance to solve real-world issues such as sustainability, circular economy, and climate change. This is a self led module and you will choose one of the following 3 projects: Literature-based Project Report, Pagoda Internship Project Report, and Consultancy Project Report.

Three types of project reports you may choose from in this module are:

  • literature-based project report
  • pagoda internship project report
  • consultancy project report

What you will learn

In this module you will:

  • show your understanding of the real and current issue that you have chosen
  • explore the contribution of Islamic Economy and Finance in solving recent real-world issues, such as sustainability, circular economy, and climate change
  • discuss The Islamic Law approach to digital economy tools.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the main issues and proposed solutions in your chosen topic area
  • demonstrate a critical understanding of the key relevant theoretical frameworks in your chosen topic area
  • demonstrate the intellectual skills to write a report that integrates theory and practice, producing critical and reflective conclusions and recommendations where appropriate.

Project report (100%)

  • 6,000 words

This module does not have a final exam.

Teaching methods / timetable

This module is a self-study module and you will work on your own over June and July. A series of workshops and lectures, including drop in session will be provided to help you in writing your final assignment.
