On completion of this module you will be able to articulate your transferable skills and reflect on areas for development, as well as critically evaluating your role and contribution within a team using theories of teamwork and personality type. You will critically evaluate notions of professionalism and understand appropriate modes of behaviour and attitudes in relation to your place in the world of work. Through the use of an online portfolio you will develop and apply your digital literacy skills

What you will learn

In this module, you will:

  • critically review and develop your self-awareness
  • critically review your professional values and skills
  • reflect on your work based learning to help plan your career effectively

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • critically evaluate learning from your workplace 
  • critically evaluate notions of professionalism and understand appropriate modes of behaviour and attitudes in relation to your place in the world of work. 
  • develop advanced commercial and opportunity awareness.  
  • develop and apply your digital literacy skills  
  • effectively demonstrate your higher-level communication and presentation skills by presenting information tailored to an audience 
  • engage in critical self-analysis and reflection to better understand your own career options, theories and decision-making processes

Assignments / assessment

100% of the assessment for this module is through an online portfolio where you will provide evidence of your development from your workplace experience. You will share your workplace experience expectations, show an understanding of what is expected of you, give an understanding of your own personality, and the impact and influence that this can have on others.

The assessment will be split into two sections;

Skills Development in the work place (50%)

  • in this section you will give evidence of developing your professional identity, workplace skills, and reflect on your progress so far

Opportunity Awareness, next steps, and action planning (50%)

  • in this section you will provide evidence of your reflections on the past year and plans for future development  

This module does not have a final exam.

Teaching methods / timetable

This is a blended learning programme where most of your learning will be done through self-directed learning using on-line resources and by reflecting on your day-to-day work. There will be in-person call back days where we will all get together to review and consolidate learning.
