We have dedicated support that is geared towards the requirements of medical students.

Dundee is a relatively small medical school and it is located within its own dedicated area within Ninewells, which is the main teaching hospital in the city. The small size and close proximity to the patients and the professionals who care for them creates a real feeling of support for each cohort of students from both University and NHS teaching staff.

The University provides excellent support through Student Services – which has all the support teams one would expect from a high performing institution. Within the School of Medicine we have dedicated support that is geared towards the requirements of medical students. Students can also benefit from personal tutors and academic mentor. We have a very popular Peer Mentor and Peer Tutor schemes that provide year-to-year practical guidance and support, especially for students in early years.

    Gareth's story

Although initially uncertain whether or not I would be able to fully fund my studies, I was reassured when I received a scholarship from the Dow Trust, which provided annual funds to financially disadvantaged students like myself.
