I have recently started a role as a senior clinical teacher and co-theme lead for clinical skills at the University of Dundee. I had a previous development role as a clincal tutor in TCGP 2015-2017.
Prior to this, my experience is more in the postgraduate setting having done a year as the medical education fellow for the South East Scotland GP Unit after qualifying as a GP in 2014. I continue a role there as an ST3 trainee small group educational release course organiser.
I am currently enjoying teaching clinical skills and relish the challenges the curriculum review shall no doubt bring. I am also exploring research opportunities to become involved with in the department.
I completed a masters in clinical education in 2017. The thesis was based around evaluation of a GP simulation activity (done when working in TCGP but run from clinical skills). I hope to expand this work and explore integrating it in some way into the clinical skills programme moving forward.
