The Burn, is a magnificent mansion house (built in 1791) at Edzell near Brechin in Angus.
It is open for most of the year for the use of members of staff and students from British, Commonwealth and American Universities. It is owned by the Governors of London House for Overseas Graduates. It is run by a resident Controller who is answerable to a management committee on which all the Scottish Universities are represented.

Requests for bookings should be made as far as possible in advance, particularly for vacation periods. There is accommodation for a maximum of 32 persons in four single, eight double and four treble rooms.
Bookings for reading parties are to be made direct to the Controller. "Reading party" means a staff-student study group in which students predominate numerically. Charges are levied at a reduced rate on both staff and students in reading parties.
