Training resources
Links to resources and opportunities to learn about and gain practical experience using tools and techniques developed in the School of Life Sciences
The School of Life Sciences includes several research groups delivering training for post-graduate students and researchers locally, nationally, and internationally. Many of the training opportunities offered by these groups are supported by public funds; and recognised by national and international networks including ELIXIR-UK, ELIXIR and EuBioImaging.
Data Analysis Group (DAG)

The Data Analysis Group provides training in a range of bioinformatics and analysis processes, ranging from the use of Linux and the HPC cluster through to quantitative analysis methods and genome assembly.
Courses are run as a series of ‘bite-sized’ half-day modules. Please see the DAG training pages for details of available courses.
Open Microscopy Environment

The Open Microscopy Environment (OME) team provides outreach workshops in the community to demonstrate the features of our tools, mainly the image data management software OMERO and the Image Data Resource (IDR) within imaging workflows.
The training materials we develop are freely available along with the image data and setup procedures used.
