The Robertson Trust Medical Library is one of 4 library sites operated by the Library & Learning Centre (LLC).
Location and Access
This Library is located in Ninewells Hospital & Medical School, Dundee DD1 9SY. The Library is located on Level 7 and 8 of the Hospital and is open 24/7 all year. Access to the building is controlled by a proximity card secure entry system and is only available to University of Dundee staff and students, and to NHS Tayside members of the library. To have your card enabled, please email Ninewells-Library@dundee.ac.uk with details of the proximity code from the back of your ID card and allow 2 working days (Monday - Friday) for the application to be processed.
For your convenience, a book drop for returning library items is situated on Level 8 adjacent to the library entrance.
Library Resources
The Robertson Trust Medical Library houses a wide range of electronic and printed books, journals, DVDs, videos and numerous online databases (for licensing reasons some of these resources are only available to staff and students of this university), such as the innovative 'PubMed' and 'Medline' databases, plus the online video database 'LinkedIn Learning'. The Library has also acquired Resource Lists an online list of resources for students to use on their specific modules.
Key Features
The Medical Library is Wi-Fi enabled to allow wireless laptop access and has 40 network PCs. You can easily find out where on campus computers are available in real-time by checking the IT Suites PC Availability live feed. NHS wi-fi is also available, plus an eresources pc. A Pay2print top up machine is on site, plus 2 black and white/colour A3/A4 printing/copying and scanning machines.
A soft seating area is provided as well as a variety of study spaces. The University also has 3 other libraries with silent and group study zones, wireless networking and IT Suites that students can access, plus the Main Library has a PC Internet Cafe and provides extensive opening hours during exam periods, as requested by University of Dundee students.
