Resource Lists - Key Information

Reading Lists are upgrading during Summer 2020

These upgrades include:

1. Name change to Resource Lists to be more in line with blended learning

2. Improved software interface which better supports:

  • Student engagement with resource lists - they can comment on, and 'like' resources, and even suggest new ones
  • A range of reports and analytics for Teaching Staff to gain insights into how students use their Resource Lists
  • Full integration with the LLC's Library management system, allowing greater efficiencies in ordering and making E-books and digitized chapters available

One of the main benefits is that this new process allows for Library staff to create, amend, update resource lists for Academic Staff.

But in order to do this, please look at the below dates/timeline:

10th July

New key package requests to be submitted via form

LLC obtains pricing options and aims to submit proposals to 2020-21 committee for possible approval/funding.  These are expected to be resources needed to support blended learning.

16th July

Review Reading lists, marking as Essential those items which are needed in online format in order to teach the module.

LLC staff will check usual sources for content and notify you if certain books are not yet available online.

Digitisation may be an alternate option if e-versions are not available. Current policy allows 1 chapter/10% of content.

17th July

Reading Lists will be temporarily unavailable for student access for approx. 3 days to allow upgrade

Students can still download, save, pin, bookmark resources and lists. This will be publicised through social media, webpage etc from today -

17th July to 6th August

There will be no access to editing or amending lists in Reading list software.

You can still send any amendments, new resources for reading lists to

All Digitisation queries to as well.
