You said - Can the new mid-floor be a Quiet Zone? We did   - At the request of students we have made the new mid-floor a Quiet Zone.  This covers all open areas on this floor.  If you are not sure of what the difference is between our Silent, Quiet and General study zones please see our guide below.   Study Zones A guide to the zoning of study spaces.   Silent study For individual, silent study. New access gates in Main Library

To improve security, and help us better manage the building, we have installed access gates. Remember your card when you come to the building, and tap to enter and leave.  New student and staff ID cards should automatically work, as do some existing cards. If yours doesn't, we can very quickly activate it.  If the gate light turns green when you tap on the entry disc your card will work, if the light turns red a member of staff will be on hand to activate your card. ‌...
