Engaging Students in Assessment and Feedback via Exemplars - InspirED Seminar Series 2017
There is a growing literature on the pedagogic use of exemplars as a means of supporting students’ understanding of assessment and feedback processes in higher education (Blair et al, 2014: Carless and Chan, 2016; Hendry et al, 2016; Smith et al, 2013). This session will consider some of the benefits and challenges associated with analysing and discussing exemplars to develop students’ assessment literacy. Case study material will be used to illustrate students’ views and to initiate a discussion of some of the issues to emerge for anyone who decides to implement exemplars in their teaching practice.
