Forensic Science at the Festival of the Future Dundee

The Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science had a busy weekend at the Festival of the Future in Dundee on the 19 and 20 October where we launched two brand new public engagement activities.
Our Premier of The Evidence Chamber, which was created with ex-theatre company FanSHEN, ran on both days at the Sheriff Court. At this event members of the public acted as 'jury' members and interpreted Expert Witness statements on different scientific evidence types. This experience is also contributing to research work in the area of communication of forensic science.
Members of the public were also invited to undertake their own forensic investigations at the Three Act Robbery event. At this event a fictional case was investigated using a number of different forensic science techniuqes and experiments. The experts on-hand were all PhD students at the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science or the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification at the University of Dundee.
A huge thanks to all of our partners that made these events possible and to the many members of the public that participated over the weekend.
