Prof. Colin Reid has been continuing his involvement in Brexit-related activities. He was one of a group of experts giving evidence to the Finance and Constitution Committee of the Scottish Parliament as part of its investigation into the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill which is being debated at Westminster. In particular, he was invited to contribute on the possible arrangements for establishing common frameworks for collaboration between the four administrations within the UK. He also co-chaired a stakeholder meeting in Edinburgh as part of a study into Brexit, the environment and devolution, undertaken within the ESRC-funded Brexit and Environment Network. Participants came from the Scottish Government, the Parliament, the voluntary sector and academia and the very open discussion produced insights into current thinking on how the Brexit process is evolving and what will be needed for effective environmental governance in future.
