Dundee Law School has established a broad portfolio of partnership agreements and exchange arrangements with a range of highly ranked law schools in Europe and overseas. These facilitate staff research as well as permitting Dundee students to study abroad and students from partner institutions to come to Dundee.
The Joint LLM with the University of Cergy-Pontoise, France allows students to study international commercial law from both common law and civil law perspectives, thereby gaining a unique comparative perspective. Semesters 1 (Sept - Jan) and 3 (June - Aug) are spent in Dundee with semester 2 (Jan - May) spent in France.
The Joint LLM with The University of Toulouse, France allows students to study private international law from the contrasting perspectives of the common law and civilian traditions. The programme runs on a January - January schedule, students undertake two modules in Dundee, then a dissertation, before heading to Toulouse in September. After completing their courses in France students complete an extended essay evaluating their Dundee dissertation from a civil law perspective.
