Kick-start 2019 with ACTIVEmate – the chance to enjoy the excellent facilities and exercise classes on offer at the Institute of Sport and Exercise throughout January for free!
For ACTIVEmate 2019, current ISE members are encouraged to bring along their friends and colleagues to take part in sport and exercise. With over 40 weekly exercise classes; the most extensive gym provision in the city and over forty sports clubs, there really is something for everyone at ISE!
Exercising together provides healthy social opportunities and improves our mental health – it’s also great fun!

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course
This course is for those who are interested in becoming a qualified lifeguard.
It is a nationally recognised award and includes a range of water rescue skills and knowledge related to lifeguarding in a swimming pool. We also cover current resuscitation protocol, basic first aid, communication, teamwork, understanding of pool operating procedures and hazards.
The course is delivered over two weekends. All dates must be attended. Candidates must be 16 or over and complete a swim test.

Group PT Courses
Do you have friends, family or colleagues with the same training goals?
As the mornings and evenings get darker, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to move. Group training can give you the extra motivation you need to get up and just do it!
The benefits of training with friends:

We offer a 7-week training course in small group fitness (maximum 4 people per course). You will have an hour training session per week with a customised programme to work on for 6 weeks. Week 7 is a bonus week to review both progress and training.
