Active Strength

Strength training has many benefits! Stronger muscles and bones, increased confidence, better movement skills, improved sports performance and much more. Our Active Strength programme offers a high quality, supervised strength and conditioning sessions for children between 8 - 16 years, in a small group environment.

‌What will the children do?

The sessions will involve a combination of body weight, movement-based and weights exercises - we are training stronger movement, not getting bigger muscles!

The programme is overseen by a team of Strength Coaches at the University of Dundee (accredited through the UK Strength and Conditioning Association) who are PVG checked and have many years of experience working with children. 

We will be running a free taster session on Tuesday 25th February, 16:00 - 17:00 pm, for children and accompanying adults to get a flavour of what a typical session might be like!

*As a specialist activity, it is very important that safety is paramount, that the children enjoy the sessions and that they are physically and mentally ready to lift. If the coaches feel that any child is acting in an unsafe manner, is not 'ready to lift' or is not engaged in the sessions, then they will be removed from the programme and a refund will be given. It is important to emphasise that this type of activity is not for every child. 

Active Ballet 

Our next Ballet course will return to members in the New Year! This 8-week course will take you through the technique, form, and rhythm of the dance art and is an excellent way to express your grace and elegance in a safe environment. 

The course will commence on Monday 13th January with a break of one week on the 10th February as the studio is unavailable.
